A downloadable game

Good Morning to a wonderful day.
Good Evening to the night of possibilities.
Good Night to our memories of yesteryear.

Good morning, good evening and good night.
I pray for the days this peace will last.

Good Morning, Good Evening and Good Night.
May we become everlasting friends.

You are invited into the fragmented tale of four unconventional friends, bound together by a series of increasingly sinister events.

Will these friends be able to uncover its secrets before it’s too late? Or will they succumb to the ghosts haunting them of their pasts?

Iris to Id: Ghost In The Machine is an atmospheric visual novel where you can immerse yourself in these characters’ lives, their struggles, and see if they can overcome the sins looming over them.

  • Explore the story told by two of the four main character's different perspectives.
  • Current version: ~22.8k words
  • Several illustrated character sprites
  • Includes illustrated CGs and original backgrounds

Planned for future release:

  • More chapters to be unlocked, including Kazuya Shiba's full route.
  • Future version: ~49.4 + words (and counting...)
  • Multiple endings
  • New perspectives...
  • More secrets to uncover.

This project got rolling a bit late into the Jam. We were still getting our ideas together on the start of the second week, and officially started in the middle of the second. With our busy every days, different game projects, and even a first day of college looming on the horizon, we threw our gloves into the ring.

This is the first game that we, as friends, made together. Under the guidance of our most experienced, this small team of a veteran and sort-of-newbies in game dev dove literally headfirst into this whole thing. After a mad dash to the finish line, here we are.

We wouldn't have been able to get anywhere without Archeia being here with us and taking our stupid questions without sending us to the shadow realm every time. They expanded our brains with lots of knowledge about various things, and we are more than grateful that they took us under their wing for these few weeks.

We are planning to update the game with more content in the near future, polishing it up until we are satisfied. Even now, we have written chapters waiting for us in our drafts for this game...There are many more things we want to show everyone--perhaps some new projects too-- but for now, we really need to take some big eeps.

We sincerely hope you will enjoy our game, our characters, and their stories.

  • Skipping scenes may cause the message box to disappear for some time.
  • There may be visual glitches, but they should not disrupt game play.
  • Video effects may or may not play :(
  • Currently there is a bug where at some point, the game softlocks due to the wait time bug. To bypass it, please try the following:
    • Load a previous save and press skip. Sometimes skip takes a while (5 seconds) since it doesn't fully skip wait times.

unf this looks so good

hello, not sure if this is intentional but i can't seem to be able to find the downloads for the game? Σ(°△°'')

Yes it's intentional. We're making a new build right now that fixes all the bugs we had!

I had a great time with this game. The character designs are top notch, and I was so invested in what happens to Ritsu. The centipede imagery was disgusting, and I'm going to feel really weird about eating pasta for a while.

I don't know if the story will be more straightforward in future updates, but I love how understated the ending with Kazuya and the ring is. I also love that you included "Put Out My Eyes." It's such a striking poem, and it fits the game so well.

Consider me a fan! I look forward to following this project and seeing what happens with the story!

Thank you so much orino!! I'm glad that our characters' designs were enjoyable, and that you enjoyed the story and the scenes! I was honestly a bit worried about that scare, but I'm glad it was effective haha sorry

I really liked the poem too, the first time archeia showed it to us like that, I was so shook! hehe

Thank you again for your comment!!

I had a great time! Plenty of little hidden details a curiosities, as well as some spooky imagery at times. Very cool!

Thank you so much! We're so glad you enjoyed it! ;w;
